Two Finger Wedding Band
Featured in "500 Wedding Rings," this ring is to be worn between the second and third finger of the left hand. The ring is made of a platinum/sterling alloy with a ribbon of 24-karat gold spanning the top. Channel set in the center of the top is a .15 carat diamond.
The ring spans both the second and third fingers without restraining finger movement.

Solstice Wedding Ring
Featured in "500 Wedding Rings" this ring is roll-printed sterling silver and 22-karat gold. A .45 carat diamond is bezel set center.

Printed Metal Rings
These rings were featured in an article and on the cover of the March 2006 issue of Art Jewelry magazine. I made round beads with roll-printed sterling silver, set a diamond in the center of the bead and suspend the bead on an 18-karat gold shank with 18-karat gold jump-rings.

Two Bracelets
Roll-printed and Hydraulically pressed sterling silver is fabricated into beads and then strung on wire. Jump rings of 18-karat gold or sterling silver complete the bracelet.

Sterling silver alternating with 14-karat rose gold make up the square wire links in this 20 inch chain. A bead toggle clasp completes the necklace.

Shadow Box Locket
Using the hydraulic press to create the soft forms for this locket lets the locket lay smooth. A synthetic sapphire watch crystal is bezel set to allow the contents of the locket to be visible. This locket has been juried into the Art of Jewelry Show at the Artist's Gallery on Bainbridge Island

Maltese Cross Earrings
Featured in the book "500 Earrings" these platinum, pink sapphire and tahitian pearl earrings were also the winners of a prestigous American Gem Trade Association Spectrum Award in 2001, and they appeared on the cover of Modern Jeweler magazine in Feb. 2001.

Maltese Cross Pieces
The necklace is doubled 14-karat white gold chain with freshwater pearl spacers. The pendant is reversible 14-karat white gold with princess cut sapphires and an aquamarine briollet. The earrings are 20-karat yellow gold with princess cut diamonds.

Biedermeier Engagement
The 1-carat (F, VS1) diamond is set in a tapered 18-karat yellow gold semi-bezel. The stirrup shaped shank is fabricated from milled 12-gauge platinum wire. This ring is also featured in "500 Wedding Rings"

Platinum Pieces
The Engagement ring is bezel set with a 1-carat, F/Vs1 diamond. The Pendant is bezel set with a 1-carat triangular checkerboard-cut tanzanite with intense color. The earrings received a Platinum Passion Award in 1998 and hold .05-carat diamonds total weight.

Spiral Earrings
These earrings were featured in the newly published Lark Book "The Art of Jewelry: Resin and Plastic."
They are made of 22-karat gold bezel wire and epoxy resin.

Triangle Earrings
These sterling silver and 14-karat gold earrings were made in 1985 as proto-types for the Debeers' Diamond-International Awards. The sketches for these same earrings made with diamonds and platinum were selected for the final judging in London. More recently, this photo of the earrings was featured in the "500 Earrings" book juried by Alan Revere.

A rectangular cushion-cut Imperial Topaz is flanked by pave set diamonds and sapphire cabochons in 18-karat gold and platinum.

Olympic Mountians Brooch
Fluidly carved, drusy, blue chalcedony represent the Olympic Mountain range in this platinum, pearl, tanzanite, and diamond brooch. This one-of-a-kind brooch won an American Pearl Company, Vision Award in 1997 and was featured in Jewelers Quarterly (JQ)magazine that same summer. The brooch is in a private collection.

Group Shot
This is a group shot of 13 of the 22 two-fingered rings that are based on the Major Arcana of the Tarot. The concepts behind the 22 ring set can be read in the Articles section of this website. Les Bijoux de Tarot (The Jewels of the Tarot) is my thesis on the connections between important life passages, culture, art and the fact that jewelry lies at the center of all of these.

The Magician
Tiny diamonds tube set in platinum and 18-karat white gold wires signify the sub-atomic particles that make up all matter according to quantum physics. The blue tourmaline bezel set center is a native American meditational gemstone. The Tarot card of the Magician represents the ability of the human mind to focus it's mental energy and call into existence and physical manifestation what were once thoughts and ideas.

The Emperor
Stainless steel screen is laser welded to sterling silver frames, which are then riveted together in the shape of a Fleur-de-lis. Some of the oldest remaining Tarot cards are from the court of France and dated to the time of the Hundred Years War. This is why I chose the symbol of the royal French coat of arms for the card the Emperor. The ring spans all four fingers of the hand.

The Lovers
Stainless steel plates are held together with spaced platinum rivets. Tension set between the plates are six .05ct. F/VS2 diamonds for a total weight of .30ct. The Lovers is the 6th card of the Major Arcana and all aspects of this ring are based on the number 3 and it's multiples, which has sigificance within the Tarot.

The Hanged Man
I fabricated roll-printed 18-karat gold and sterling silver sheet into this two-finger ring with a one carat cabochon emerald is bezel set. This ring was a technical challenge as all the surfaces have a texture on them, so, I had to be especially careful with soldering and finishing.

The Hermit
The Hermit repersents a meditative state an archetypical symbol of spiritual wisdom and profoundly humble selfless work. The card often shows a monk or nun holding a lantern, offering the enlightenment of self-knowledge to those who search. I felt a ring as lantern was the key symbol for this piece made of sterling silver, steel screen, 18-karat gold, and wax

Death
This ring is made of reticulated silver with 18-karat square wire edging. The 13th card in the Arcana, Death is symbolic of change and renewal. The wild rose on the top has 13 grains of 18-k gold fused to the center to indicate the number of the card.

The Star
A satin aquamarine, in a sugarloaf cabochon cut with star chatoyance is tension set between the three platinum/sterling and two 18-karat gold plates. Two invisible rivets hold the entire ring together. This ring received an award of honor in the 2006 Bench Jeweler's Awards.

Judgement
Sterling silver and 14-karat rose gold are riveted together to hold the cabochon pink tourmaline. The 20th card in the Major Arcana, Judgement is linked to karma, recovery, reincarnation and transformation. The tourmaline in native American culture was used in transformative meditation and for recovery from injury.
